During the last five years, VMware has gone through a significant transformation.
First, it moved away from offering its own public cloud to bet on the multi-cloud strategy. Today, VMware Cloud Foundation, the software-defined data center component running in the cloud, is the preferred hybrid cloud platform officially supported by top hyperscalers.
The next major move came in the form of Project Pacific, which brought containers and virtual machines together. VMware Cloud Foundation and vSphere embed Kubernetes to enable customers to manage traditional and modern workloads seamlessly.
